Hi guys its Sage here! The Watermarks monthly delight of high tea has a Christmas twist in December. International relief organisation Samaritan’s Purse will be the focus for this event, with attendees encouraged to bring a small gift as a donation.
What is Samaritans Purse? A very well known charity established in 1970 they help meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine. Providing desperately needed assistance to these communities, they developed programs that transform villages, neighbourhoods, and help families become self-supporting.
Not only does this amazing charity create job skills, school construction and education projects which breaks the cycle of poverty, they have been at the forefront of disaster response. 2010 the devastating earthquake hit Haiti, Samaritan’s Purse built thousands of shelters for those families still living outdoors saving many lives.
So for the Watermarks fabulous high tea they will be incorporating this worthy cause to help children who are less fortunate. Operation Christmas Child organises gifts for Cambodian school children making their Christmas day a little more special. The project has reached over 77million children in 130 countries with Christmas gifts since 1990.
The Watermark is asking guests to provide a gift (the size of a shoe box) filled with items to be sent to these less fortunate children
These gifts could be anything from clothing or shoes, Teddy bears, pencils, skipping rope or even stickers and craft kits.
Please check out the Watermarks list of examples and details on December High Tea &Operation Christmas Child facebook event. FULL CONDITIONS APPLY so please follow the charity’s wishes.
