And here at CocoBongo we also like to make things super easy to WIN this fantastic stuff. So when Globetrotters told us about their awesome campaign we jumped at the chance to help out!

Globetrotters accommodation is situated on the main drag of Flinders street next to the Mad Cow. What a lot of people don't realise is that when they're standing in that monstrous taxi line soaking up the glorious rain they are literally staring directly at the more sensible option. A room at Globetrotters starts at $25 a night and goes up to $75, all rooms have their own en-suite, there is a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ and pool. So that $60.00 taxi out to Kirwan seems a bit silly doesn't it? Why not drive in, stay the night and take the struggle out of getting home safely. So party it up- then literally stumble into bed and take out the worry....noice

I have seriously come to believe there is no 'ONE' word that can describe a consortium foam party. Consortium has evolved to be one of the most entertaining clubs we could possibly have. It’s so diverse and caters for such a broad spectrum of people. 

The foam parties are getting bigger with 2,600 revellers passing through their doors.
The onlookers and the unsure watched with even the majority of them eventually ditching their heels or shirts to join the ultimate wet and wild experience!

After speaking with Consortium staff, they said, 'besides being a really hectic pace for us, it's so good to see people in such a happy mood.' These nights literally transform an ordinary atmosphere.

It showcases the meaning of ' REAL ' fun. People can be comfortable with going out and just being themselves. We can wear whatever we want, we can wear thongs, beach attire, we can dress up, or we can even get our shirt’s off which I definitely recommend he he

You can go out and transform your night and do something that you don't normally do. I can’t tell you enough…….if you haven't been to one yet you can't miss the next one for “Groovin in Moo” after party. It will be HUGE!!!!!

Festival Love

Bazel here. I’m always surprised to hear when Townsville’s music scene is described to me as dismal. To hear those whingers drag on about how “Townsville’s so boring” and that there’s "No good DJs in this town” personally offends those artists who come to entertain us.

From my own experience I’ve found some of the most talented and vibrant local artists are producing some of the highest quality material worthy of any major city. And let’s not forget the legion of great promoters bringing some of the biggest and most popular festivals to Townsville, rivalling any capital.

People seem to complain about the $25 entry fee to see a great artist, but have no problems forking out $500+ for flights and accommodation to see the exact same event in Brisbane?

Times certainly are a changing and I think we need to start supporting our local community a little better. What better way to start than to support the “I LOVE Festivals” event Saturday 24th March, promoted by Boi King Koi Productions at James Cook University’s "The Club"

Featuring ten of the best DJ’s from around Townsville, Boi King Koi Productions have been working hard putting together an epic event to provide people with the opportunity to sample a kaleidoscope of sounds, one for every style. With no genre or musical restrictions, these guys want to showcase Townsville’s local talent, by simply representing the artist’s fattest beats and latest inspirations by exposing their creative talents to the Townsville public.

Speaking about their event, Boi King Koi Productions expect 500 revellers to walk through their doors and are encouraging festival attire with “dancing shoes” a must! They have forecast intense entertainment with fluoro paint, live projections, light shows and FOAM on offer during the event.

To top all this off, the major after party will be held at Consortium with only a $2 entry fee for all Uni students!!! Buses will be provided and resident DJ Slim will be backing it up with some of the hottest tunes. Everyone always loves a good after party and Consortium Super Club is perfect.....

I think it’s about time we get our heads out of our arses and start supporting these events and appreciate some of the hidden talent right here on our door steps!

PS. A little birdie tells me that “the hottest bods from the Cowboys had their shirts off at Consortium's foam party, having too much fun” I guess you ladies better be prepared for the weekend then ha ha thanks for that info Sage;)

Sumo Sundays

Hello my CocoBongo followers it’s Sage here. Sumo Wrestling, there’s a few things that come to mind  like giant men battling it out with astonishing strength and the other is that their simply just jolly FAT. Known as a god like profession in Japan, these are REAL men of ancient rituals from the Japanese imperial court.  It was known that province representatives were even required to compete in contests known as “sumai party's” which is the perfect phrase to describe the Watermarks Sumo Sunday party!!!!

The Tavern from 330pm Sunday 18^th and 25^th March are giving people the chance to get some sumo kits on and have some wrestling fun all thanks to Amusements Plus. I’ve yet to try out these play suits and I’m pretty excited about bashing up some unsuspecting gentlemen…. Sumo Sunday’s it’s on!!

There will be some fabulous specials on offer with the crowd dared to eat the ‘all famous’ red hot wasabi peas. Corona buckets and $10 BBQ babyback ribs are always a hit with every sumo participant on the day going in the draw to win a $200.00 Flight Centre gift voucher.

A new era in hip hop and RNB has dawned...

level _­7 launched their unique concept event on the weekend at Consortium and it's quickly becoming one of “Australia’s hottest nightclubs” according to an international source. They did it with style and flare as the stage just kept providing us with amazing talent, act after act. 

It really showed off the Townsville night life and with a great club like The Consortium and an amazing brand like  LEVEL 7 you really can ROCK THE CAZBAH .. So to speak.

The night featured DJ FLO from the Gold Coast, who absolutely obliterated the speakers with his amazing Set. FORTAFY .. Australia’s Sexiest MC .. Was there in High view for the ladies to objectify and to keep the party going!

PHINESSE!!! Amazing performance!  By such a talent. His door and stamping skills almost match his choreography... And then there was KIDD BENNY who just ripped it up all night long...

With  all this and dancers, and rappers, and competitions and balloons falling from the sky filled with prizes you could be forgiven if you thought it was New Years Eve already!

All in all it was a wonderful change from what has been going on in our town of late... So congratulations LEVEL 7 and the Consortium on stepping up the Game. Play ball....

PS a little spy told me that the DJ's were entertained with a lavish spread put on by the Watermark and Phinesse got up in the restaurant and sang happy birthday to one lucky girl with his amazing voice....what a night!
